AMERICAN CUT BLANKETS

  • American cut blankets usually do not have a tail flap and are sized in 2” increments
  • The most common sizes for an American blanket is 78-82 inches
  • The American blanket is a usually a tighter, shorter fit than the European

EUROPEAN CUT BLANKETS

  • European Cut Blankets most always have a tail flap and are sized in 3” increments
  • The most common blanket size for a European blanket is 75 inches
  • The European blanket is a fuller, longer, looser cut than the American

BE SURE TO KNOW WHAT CUT OF BLANKET YOU ARE PURCHASING 

  • A 78” European cut may be TOO BIG for your horse
  • If your horse is unusually broad, you may require the next size up
